Literally taking it on the chin - literally and figuratively.
I was at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday to see Dan Carter belt Martin Roberts, the substitute scrum-half not long on the pitch, in the throat in a last-ditch tackle. It has now been announced that Carter will be cited for the tackle.
But in a wonderful fusion of my two main interests: rugby, and the L-word - Martin Roberts summed up his feelings with “Things like that happen in games, and you just have to take it on the chin” which judging by this photo, he did literally as well as figuratively.
On youtube there are two versions of the tackle currently. One is “Dan Carter Unintentional High Tackle” and the other is the one below: “Martin Roberts gets Smashed by Dan Carter“. I wonder what teams the people who posted those videos support?
